This necklace comes from the Leopold family, the royal family of Belgium. On both sides of the chain, white gold and diamonds create a classical and romantic harp plaque, like a constellation twinkling in the night sky. Creamy white saltwater pearls dangle between the two harps, spreading like strings. In any era, natural pearls of this uniform size and color are extremely rare, once even more rare than diamonds. The fullness of the pearl and its unadulterated beauty were seen as a symbol of purity, and have captivated generations of European churches and royalty.
