Thank you for choosing V MUSE fine jewelry. Our products are made with a variety of precious gemstones, metals, and other rare materials. To ensure the longevity of your treasure's brilliance, we would like to provide you with some tips on how to take care of your beloved jewelry.
Diamond
Diamonds can be easily kept in pristine condition with a few simple steps of care. Due to the stone's hardness, diamond jewelry should be stored separately from other jewelry to avoid collisions, as diamonds could easily mark or damage softer metals or stones. It is recommended that diamonds be stored in a separate jewelry box or a soft pouch.
Diamonds could be cleaned with soap water or other grease-eliminating detergents. Rinsed with warm water, and then gently dried with a lint-free cloth will bring back the original brilliance of the stone. If the above method does not remove the surface impurities, immerse the diamond in warm water mixed with several drops of detergent.
Even though diamonds are a very durable stone, it is advisable to avoid wearing them while performing laborious tasks.
If you have any concerns over the maintenance of your diamond jewelry, we suggest that you send it back to us for a routine checkup every two years.
Gold and Platinum
Gold and platinum jewelry could be cleaned with a detergent that will not scratch the surface of the metal, or simply soap water at home. Store gold separately from other metals to avoid tarnishing. Do not expose gold jewelry to household bleach as the gold may discolor or even decompose. Avoid wearing gold and platinum rings at the same time as the two metals differ in hardness and could damage upon collision.
To prevent gold jewelry from tarnishing, do not wear any gold jewelry while swimming, as chlorine in pool water could damage the metal surface. It is also recommended that you take off your jewelry before using perfumes, hair sprays, or other cleaning products.
Since precious metals are easily scratched or dented by harder substances, it is recommended that you never wear gold or platinum jewelry while performing laborious tasks.
When gold and platinum have lost their luster or become scratched, they can be re-polished to bring back their original brilliance. Platinum could be treated with rhodium plating to restore its shine.
Gemstone
Gemstones require delicate storage, remember to avoid contact with abrasive surfaces or sudden impact with hard materials. It is recommended that you store your gems in a separate jewelry box or a soft cloth pouch, and that you take off your gem-set jewelry before engaging in laborious work.
Pearl
Pearls are organic stones with sensitive micropores on their surface that require extra care. First, avoid contact with chemical products, detergents, cosmetics and perfumes, and make sure to wear your pearl jewelry after you've already done your makeup, not during. Also, be careful not to come into contact with acidic substances such as salad dressings and fruit juices. Even sweat can damage the luster of pearls, so use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe away sweat and stains after wearing them.
When storing pearls, avoid contact with other jewelry, and be sure to store them separately.
Emerald
It is nearly impossible to find a flawless emerald. In fact, it could be said that emeralds must contain some degrees of cracks and impurities, so complex so that researchers have called these impurities "gardens". For this reason, emeralds are particularly susceptible to damage from collisions and should be carefully kept. Unlike other gemstones, emeralds require special care. It is advisable to avoid exposing the stone to direct sunlight, high temperature, and sudden changes in temperature, and to avoid exposure to chemical products, including cleaning products.
