Awakening: Royal Jewellery Arts from Renaissance to the 20th Century, a never-ending exhibit of treasures on paper
Awakening: Royal Jewellery Arts from Renaissance to the 20th Century, a never-ending exhibit of treasures on paper - the first edition of the Mandarin Chinese catalogue, is released.
This book is the thematic catalogue of the exhibition "Awakening: Royal Jewellery Arts from Renaissance to the 20th Century" (22.12.2019 - 19.7.2020). Spanning across four centuries and covering more than 20 countries, the exhibition documents 160 court treasures from the Renaissance to the 20th century. These relics from the Napoleonic family, the Romanov dynasty, the Bourbon-Parma family and other European crowns tell the world the legend once again after a century of circulation. It is a beautiful catalogue for collectors and art scholars, as well as for the general public, not only from the point of view of appreciation but also from the aesthetic point of view.
The book features a foreword by Mr. Louis Godart, three-time cultural and artistic advisor to the President of Italy, as well as a member of the Académie française, the Académie des Bobcats and the Académie d'Athens, Greece: "Awakening: Royal Jewellery Arts from Renaissance to the 20th Century breaks the old Heraclitean maxim that one can never bathe twice in the same water because "everything flows and nothing remains". The splendid collection of the Awakening breaks the old Heraclitean adage because by browsing the rooms where these works are exhibited, the visitor, in contact with these eternal objects, will be able to tear himself the space of a moment from the contingency of time that passes and live a moment of dream and eternity.
